13 Months

Dear Ari,

Another month older and we are enjoying the summer and checking out lots of new parks. You are a super brave explorer now that you are starting to walk. that has been the biggest change this month, you have learned how you use your legs, You got very stable pretty quickly!

New skills: Walking!! You learned how to walk at just after 13 months. Crawl somewhere, pull up and walk away, sliding down slides (head first), trying to use a spoon to feed yourself

A highlight of the end of June was Ayla finishing off Junior Kindergarten. We all went to celebrate with her and tell her how proud we are of her. You had a great time just checking everything out and being passed from person to person.


We celebrated Canada Day at the fair - this year you got to come with us! You had fun checking out all the cool rides and all the people walking around. Mommy's friend Karen was in town and they came and celebrated with us. 



We went to Rolley lake and had a great day playing in the sand and water. You were a little bit brave and ventured out in the water, but not too far. You had fun crawling around naked and being with all the people. 



We have spent a lot of the summer exploring parks between you naps. You love being outside and with other people. You have made friends with all the Park Play leaders and they love when you come hang out with them.



Your biggest milestone this month was learning how to walk. You actually learned this pretty quickly and very steady on your feet.

You had a play date with Finley while mommy and Ayla were at soccer. You had fun playing with Finley and eating with him. We will have to have them over for dinner soon at our house.



One of your favourite things to do is to steals phones and eat them! At child minding, Jhanika says you even take selfies! One day at the park you stole Kim's phone and took this random video.

 

 You are a very good little eater - while you enjoy most foods, fruits, veggies and cheese seem to be a bit of a challenge still. Hopefully one day you will like these things. You really like to feed yourself and we gave you a spoon to try yogurt - you did well, but there was lots of yogurt everywhere!!!



 You had your second hair cut - and it was a as bad as the first. You dont like being restrained and you hate the hair dresser. Hopefully soon we will turn a corner on this issue as you look super cute with a clean hair cut!



You were rocking teh Miami Vice look thanks to the Hawaiian shirt and moustache pacifier. 


We are done with the weekly pics now that you are a year old. We are still taking monthly pics of you with your lion to see you grow!

Dearest Ari, These months are going by faster and faster - time needs to slow down!!! You have no idea how much joy and love you have brought to our family! You are laid back, easy going and your smile just melts all of our hearts - and you giggle, that's the best!!! Stats: Height: 23.5" Weight: 12 lbs 6oz New Skills: Giggling at things (mostly Ayla jumping), sitting up with help (and a bit alone), swimming, kicking in bath, sitting in bumbo, standing while leaning on things, starting to "talk and you like to slam your legs down. Dear Ari, Its been 4 months since you surprised us with your early entrance into this world. We are getting to know you and your personality and so far you seem super curious and laid back! You are starting to really notice things and smile at things that you like. You have started to do some more consistent night sleeps (yeah!) and we are starting to get you on a schedule. You seem to like to nap every 2 hours or so - you eat, play and the sleep at around the 2 hr mark. Stats: Height: 22.75" Weight: 11 lbs 8 oz New skills: starting to reach for toys, giggling, rolling tummy to back consistently, standing with support and smiling at things you like  Your sister still adores you, although she does get a little but jealous when mom and dad spend time with you instead of her. She loves giving you hugs in the am and she asks to touch you and give you lots of kisses. If she forgets to give you a kiss before bed or before we leave her at daycare it makes her very upset. Dear Ari, Wow! Time is sure flying by and I cant believe that you are 6 months already - it feels like you have been here for so much longer. You have brought so much love and joy into our family at a time when we really needed it. Stats: Height: 23.5" Weight:12 lbs 15oz New skills:  jumping in the jolly jumper, "talk" REALLY loudly,  talking in a "breathy" voice when happy, sitting in the shopping cart, almost sitting by your self and you are sooooo close to rolling from back to tummy This month you have been working a lot on your sitting - you are super close to sitting alone. You love sitting in the Bumbo and watching us eat and you enjoyed trying to sit in the shopping cart (even though you didn't last too long). Auntie Maya and Noa were still here and you spent some time with your cousin. Ayla loved that mommy bought everyone the same pajamas.
